The American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ACCJ) was established in 1948 as a means to further develop commerce between the United States of America and Japan, promote the interests of U.S. companies and members, and improve the international business environment in Japan including the commitment to demonstrating responsible corporate citizenship.
The ACCJ is a noT-FOR-profit membership organization run by and for its members. Today the ACCJ has offices in Tokyo, KOBE, and Nagoya, and represents over 3,000 members from 600 companies and 40 countries.

Networking
As the premier foreign business organization in Japan, the ACCJ brings together over 3,000 professionals from 600 globally -minded companies representing more than 40 countries.
About 500 events annually – including speaker programs, networking events, conferences, and working meetings – give members and their guests ample opportunities to network and learn. Over 60 active committees offer energetic forums for exchanging information and real-world strategies.

Three locations around Japan
To ensure the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ACCJ) is able to support the needs of the global business community across the country, the ACCJ has three locations. The central ACCJ office is in downtown Tokyo in Toranomon Hills Business Tower. In addition to the Tokyo office, the ACCJ has chapter offices in Kobe and Nagoya to serve the Kansai and Chubu regions, respectively.
